What is FireWire?

FireWire is a high-speed real-time Interface for serial Bus and isochronous/Synchronous statistics transfer between enabled gadgets. Known for its high-overall perFormance, FireWire is used with virtual audio/video, camcorders, domestic entertainment applications, vaLuable processing Devices (CPU) and Private Computers (PC) and offers sustained Switch rates of over 3200 Mbits/s.

In 1986, Apple iNitiated FireWire as its foremost communications interface as a Model of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) IEEE 1394 preferred. FireWire cHanged into commercially released in the mid-Nineteen Nineties. FireWire is also referred to as IEEE 1394, i.LINK and Lynx.
