What is a Network PC (Net PC)?

What does Net PC stand for?

A commUnity PC (Net PC) is a small, low-cost pc designed to be centrally managed and assist companies using commuNity programs. In the mid-1990s, the Net PC competed with the previous community pc widespread. Net PCs are not ready with Disk Drives, CD-ROM drives or enlargement slots. However, they do have tough disks that are used to offer temporary Cache and enhance perFormance.

What Does Network PC Mean?

Introduced in 1997, NetPCs were an early Method to coPing with Computers with the Windows working machine. NetPCs are usually used for Online Transaction Processing, banking services and retail point-of-sale Terminals. Because they're highly inexpensive, Microsoft and Intel designed the Net PC with sealed Instances to Discourage users from reconfiguring the Hardware.
